On October 28, 2024, the Foton Auman Galaxy 7 product launch took place at the Foton Motor X Lab. At the event, the Auman Galaxy 7, positioned as a luxury heavy-duty truck for trunk transportation, was unveiled globally.

The new vehicle is developed based on Foton’s innovative Galaxy Smart Architecture, targeting the operational needs of high-end, highly efficient, and value-driven trunk logistics. It sets new records in areas such as technological aesthetics, energy efficiency, intelligent driving control, and comfort. The aim is to lead industry transformation through technology, redefine global heavy-duty truck standards, and accelerate the modernization of logistics in China.

Since the launch of the Galaxy Smart Architecture and Auman Galaxy 9 on August 28, there has been significant attention both inside and outside the industry. As a new family member, the Auman Galaxy 7 retains the premium feel of the Galaxy family while offering both common and unique features. For example, its vertical layout is sleek and distinct. The Galaxy 7 also achieves industry-leading standards in steering, braking, and stability. Its intelligent system, based on the Galaxy Smart Architecture, allows for modular and functional configurations tailored to specific scenarios, ensuring that the product meets diverse needs.

Each member of the Auman Galaxy family features its own distinctive design aesthetic, combining beauty with engineering to establish a new standard of practical aesthetics in heavy-duty trucks. The Auman Galaxy 7 showcases a vertical waterfall grille, making it the world’s first mass-produced commercial vehicle to feature this design. The vehicle’s slightly rear-tilted stance not only enhances its streamlined appearance but also gives it a solid presence. The transition from the front to the side features large rounded corners, contributing to both visual appeal and superior airflow efficiency. Additionally, the sophisticated geometric headlights are energy-efficient and come equipped with automatic steering assist lighting for enhanced safety and user-friendly operation.

In addition, the Galaxy 7 features an ultra-wide lower bunk measuring 1,150 mm, and the upper bunk can be folded down, freeing up headroom while preventing items from falling. It is equipped with various transmission interfaces, mobile screen mirroring, and wireless charging functions, offering a seamless interactive experience with human-computer and terminal connectivity technologies. Notably, the Galaxy 7 comes standard with one-button start and a gear shift lever, enhancing convenience, while the driver’s cabin has been designed for improved accessibility, reducing the likelihood of bumps and scrapes.

The Auman Galaxy 7 is equipped with the Super Power Chain 5.0, which includes comprehensive upgrades to the Foton Cummins engine and ZF transmission. It features a new Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) that allows for deeper data interaction with the engine ECU and transmission TCU, enabling integrated control of the entire vehicle, engine, and transmission. This results in optimal collaboration between the vehicle and powertrain, achieving a 10% reduction in fuel consumption, a 16% increase in power, and a 17% enhancement in comfort, meeting the needs across all fields, functions, and scenarios. The fuel engine series offers a wide range of options, with displacements from 7L to 16L and horsepower ranging from 240 to 680, suitable for various conditions and applications, including regional distribution, trunk, and medium to long-distance transportation. The gas engine has also been fully upgraded, currently boasting a maximum power of 630 PS, with plans to increase it to 700 PS and torque to 3,200 N·m in the future.

In terms of transmission, the Auman Galaxy 7 is equipped with a new generation of ZF transmissions that have undergone comprehensive upgrades in information security, fuel efficiency, effectiveness, and intelligence, offering improved adaptability to various operating conditions. It features a new intelligent EBP switch that can automatically identify light, medium, or heavy loads based on road conditions and vehicle status while allowing manual selection of E or P modes in specific scenarios, enabling versatile usage. Additionally, it includes a high-precision predictive driving system with a 5 km range, which can coordinate speed, gear selection, braking, and thermal management to keep the vehicle in its most economical operating state, reducing overall fuel consumption by 2-3%.
